About Andrea:

Italian Guitarist Andrea Roberto began studying the guitar at the age of 4 with his father and was immediately admitted at the Giordano Conservatory in Foggia (Italy) under Maestro Sandro Torlontano where he obtained the Bachelor degree at the age of 14. Subsequently, He refined his artistry under the guidance of Maestro Aniello Desiderio in Koblenz (Germany), Carlo Marchione in Maastricht (Netherlands) and Thomas Patterson at the University of Arizona.

His remarkable musicianship and virtuosity have led him to performances across the globe, and to many international awards including the “Andres Segovia” prize in Pescara, the “Jose Tomas” prize in Petrer and the prestigious Parkening International Guitar Competition capturing the Gold Medal, the Jack Marshall Prize as well as Parkening’s appreciation who proclaimed: “Andrea’s musical talent, fine character and work ethics will serve as an inspiration to current and future classical guitarists”.

In 2017, Andrea made debut recording, “El Viaje de la guitarra italiana” with JSG Records which has received much critical acclaim. David Russell has noted: “Andrea’s attractive phrasing of melody paired with an impressive level of technical difficulty has earned him a place in the classical guitar community” He debuted with orchestra at age of 15 performing the Concierto de Aranjuez by J.Rodrigo with the “Umberto Giordano” Philharmonic and has participated in numerous radio broadcasts such as Vatican radio, international Spanish Radio RTVE-Madrid, Radio UAEM of Cuernavaca (Mexico). In December 2023 at the Musashino Shimin Bunka Kaikan of Tokyo Andrea became the first guitarist to ever perform the complete 6 Rossinianas by Giuliani in a Marathon concert.

He is currently teaching classical guitar at the Conservatory “Niccolò Piccinni” in Bari (Italy). “When I came across Andrea’s outstanding musicianship I knew I was witnessing the birth of a true exceptional artist”. Sergio Assad
